A new take on a once boring genre

I have always thought of the throwing genre as a bit of a boring one. You click/press Spacebar, watch your character go into the air, and wait until it lands. Not that much else.

I have to say, this game is a bit of the same, but it adds at least something to watch while you're flying into clouds. It's just got that little bit extra in it, which I like.

The addition of user-controlled powerups is a good one as well, as you have to keep watching to get a decent score.

Overall, not the best game in the world, but probably one of the best throwing games. Nice.

Very original!

I really like the idea of taking pictures of stuff and getting points for it. The way there are certain bonuses for taking a good shot are really nice.

However, I have to mention that I find it INCREDIBLY annoying that you have to start over should you die!

Well Done, though!

WHY???!!!

Because it's ridiculous, stupendous funm, that's why!!! I really like this. I was surprised that I found it so enjoyable, seeing as I usually hate one-way highscore games. But this one was so stupid, it just made me have to play it. Well done!

Very frustrating...

But whe you get it right, so worth it. I've tried many techniques, and find it very hard to start off with. But sometimes, like real drifting, you need to learn the course, and learn where and when to drift. A really nice game. The physics are really nice, but the car seems to "slide" (not how I didn't say drift) really easily, and you have to be on your toes all the time. A really nice, addictive game. Wel done!!

really funny.

I only played it for a little while, but it was really fun and funny. It's a bit bare, but for what it is, you did a great job. Congrats!

The fat guy screwed the chainsaw because it was evil. Ouch...

Fantastic and addictive.

ok, everything might be shapes, but the names are really original and the cel-shading is done really well. I love the Pokemon style of the actions, and all the quests are really clever. I've spotted a few bugs, though (only 1 is an actual bug, the rest might be):

1.) If you complete a quest and as a result get more XP than required to Lvl up, you don't level immediately: you have to kill a monster first.

2.) You can only get more FP by buying some Vitamins or leveling up. Resting won't work, and neither will Pshycho Drain, as that (at best) will only give back the lost FP.

3.) Apples may give back 40 HP in battle, but they only give 20 HP while wondering. I actually like this, but it isn't specified, so I thought I'd mention it.

Apart from those minor bugs, I must congratulate you on an incredible, addictive, playable RPG! Everything I see is perfect. The way you learn new attacks as you level, the misses, the different attacks of the enemies, and the AI!!!

I LOVE YOU!!!

TheUnsupported responds:

The +20hp from apples was a bug (fixed now). But thanks for telling me.
I'm glad you liked my RPG. You can expect more from me in the future.

Thanks for your review.

The only tut I know that uses AS to control sound

And that's exactly what I was wanting. This kind of tutorial is perfect for games, as simply putting sound in a frame can prove much harder than expected ;). I only needed a short part of the tut, but I decided to check out the rest anyway, and I found it really helpful. The AS was flawless, and the _root. tip always helps. Into my faves it goes, and a congratulations on making this!!!

PS: I know you've heard it tons, but I too think the Lockdude thing at the beginning was a bit OTT :P

Lockdude responds:

Thanks, I'm glad I could help :) Well I am planning on making more tutorials, its just with school what little time I have doing nothing I normally spend relaxing, anyway my point is I'll have more tutorials coming eventually so keep a look out, planning drawing game tutorial and a zooming in tutorial. Anyway thanks for the great review!

And yeah I am going to fix that starting, didn't realise how slow it actually was :|

Unique, stylish, and addictive...

Did I mention ADDICTIVE??? Well, despite the genre being (I'd say) shoot-em-up, this game really helped my typing skills, and I didn't yawn with boredom once. Seriously, this is the kind of thing that should be given to schools, not that crap "press the "s" key now.." kind of thing. The graphics were classic, but effective: post-apocaliptic. Style, well, that speaks for itself. Sound: nice BGM and sound effects, but not that much more. Well, better to have none than lots of crap :P. Violence: You shoot stuff, but that's it. Interactivity: come on... you really want an explanation for this??? And humour: Not really funny, but at least you weren't trying to be funny, which is the worst.

Congrats on a fantastic, skill-boosting game!!! It was fun, and helps people type quicker!! and I know you've heard this tons of times, but MAKE A THIRD!!!!

A great game, tircky, but great.

Takes a while to get used to, but is really worth it after that. But, as many others have said, this really needs a save feature. Hope to see an update sometime! And kudos on making a unique defence game!!!!

Love the Crash Bandicoot style

It's not just the music, you're right, some of the CB Gameboy games are just like this. Either way, Pacman Platform is a fantastic game, and is really original. I'd have never thought of Pacman in a platformer. The physics are perfect, and the sounds fit perfectly. I love it, and many others do. Congratulations!!!

Well, er.. hi. Watch my movies and visit my website. er.. is that enough? Oh, and i give honest opinions in my reviews. Good Luck to all flash artists!
