Incredible.

In my opinion, that was an absolute masterpiece. The animation was incredibly fluid, the sounds were perfectly fitting & well-made, the music was brilliant (I also loved the way the fighting was synchronised to the beat), and the style was phenomenal.

I really think you've pulled out all the stops with this, everything just... worked. I absolutely loved the special effects you made. The trails of the yoyo & sword were really brilliant, they just added to the intensity of the movie. Also, I liked the way it wasn't all bash-clang sounds & mindless, horrific fighting. The uplifting song worked very well, and the little snippet at the end was fantastic.

As I said, you've done EVERYTHING right, and I love it as a result. I really hope you make more movies, you're really talented.

Keep up the excellent work!

Hyun responds:

thanks so much im glad you liked it! I was afraid the song might be too funky for some but I guess it's pretty good :D Goodshirt FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHEUEEAAGH!

Surprisingly good!

I must admit, I went into this movie a bit skeptical. I simply thought "Oh god, another 15-second long animation of some guy getting hit by another guy". How wrong I was. Some of the animation in this, although a little quickly paced, puts real Flash authors to shame, it's really that good. Some of the little details really make it a step above the rest, like the way each bullet shell exits the gun completely differently, or the realistic flipping of the skateboard.

Also, it brought a smile to my face every now and then. The way the text only appears for a short time makes this all the more funny, especially that "Yo mamma" remark.

Overall, very well made. A couple of mistakes here and there, but nothing worth commenting on in this review. Well done!

ghostflames responds:

Wow ! Thats one mighty fine review ! Thnx for the detailed feedback :)

Fantastic, original idea

I really enjoyed this collab, even though many of the clips, if submitted on their own, would've just made me think "ok, what the hell?". There was a nice range of humour, parody, and "abstract" scenes, and the different artist styles was interesting too.

Some of the parts were still a bit weird, but I could put up with that. The important thing is that this is something that has never been done before, and it's been done well.

Congrats!

TheBoogley responds:

I just watched Just Another Day in Clay World, VERY NICE! :D

Very interesting idea

And it was exectuted pretty well too. Admittedly, some of the animations weren't quite up to par, but most of them were really good. For the record, my votes are:

Week 1: Oogidiba (is that how you spell it?)
Week 2: ChillyPhilly
Week 3: ChillyPhilly

Great collab idea, and I hope to see some more soon!

Rudy responds:

Thank you for your vote. It'll be used for the final earnings!

Surprisingly good

Not in a bad way at all, I really like this. When you said it was your first submission, I was a bit skeptical. Then, when you said it was finished in a day, I was even more so :(

However, what you managed to accomplish in that day was stunning. The colours were perfect, neither too bright nor too bland, and the little addition of humour made it enjoyable. It's educational, too, so plus points for that.

Great job, and I hope to see more of your work.

deepsapper responds:

Wow,Thanks man, Actually I did finished it in less than a day, it's amazing how the mind can be suddenly creative if the deadline is knocking on the door LOL, and Yeah ,this IS my first submission. I'm currently working on a new one, though.

One of the better parodies

Not the best, but I can tell you worked hard on this. The graphics are real Windows, which I love, and everything is so.... Windows.

Make another!

backflipair responds:

Ah, that's good. But to be honest I'm far too wrapped up in my depresséd ways to make another one right now.

Nice.

The animation is really good. After seeing Halo Armageddon, I was expecting mo0re of the same, but this is a HUGE improvement. I've got no idea how you did virtually everything FBF, and despite you showing the camera script (the tripod), I still don't know how the hell you did it. Well done.

Jack-Mace responds:

You dont know how i did it. I dont know either.
I just start a project and do my thing. The rest I cant remember.

One of the best in the series...

Mind you, they're all near perfect. Graphics: Well, sprites and fire always go well together, and I liked the style of your hand-drawing. Style: an MMORPG style movie is something I have never seen in my life, so an instant 10. Sound: punch sounds and cool music mean a 9. Violence: Does this really need explaining? Interactivity: that space bar text thing really makes this movie. And Humour: Well, not the funniest of the series, but at least you're not trying to be funny, and failing ;).

And, of course, you always leave it on a cliffhanger, a feat not easily accomplishable. Congratulations!!

Roaltyx responds:

thanks pal :D
yeah... i "chose" to leave the cliffhanger there... well actually it was the filesize XD

I've seen many Sonic RPG Flashes...

And this is one of the best. Everything is so like a real ORPG, and I should know that coz I play one ;). Also (if you ask me), every movie like this should have humour (yes, thats how English people spell it) and this is WAY up to scratch. Your custom characters are amazing, and the animation is flawless.

Just to recap: Funny, witty, cool, unique, and as kick-ass as a giant boot.

KEEP IT UP!!!!!!

Roaltyx responds:

WOW, thanks for the awesome review!
<3
And finnaly someone sees the humour in my work,
what ORPG game do you play?
thanks!

The best Sonic movie ever?

Probably. You deserve straight 10s. I would vote 11 if I could. The animation is so smooth; what frame rate did you use? Anyway, the rundown.

Graphics: I thought it was made by Sonic Team. Incredibly smooth, clean and most of all, you used all the sprites when they were needed. No slacking off.

Style: It's funny, yet also contains some really nice sprite fights. You pointed out all the little annoying things in a Sonic game in such a funny way. That's stylish.

Sound: Extremely good. Really nice sound FX, and really well accompanied music. The syncing was perfect. Where do you get all those sounds? Not all from Findsounds, I take it.

Violence: Not what I'd call gory, but that's a good thing. Sonic games aren't meant to be bloody. The fight scenes were amazing. The trails of Super Sonic & Shadow really added to the effect.

Interactivity: It had a menu, and a cool function so you chose when the talking continued. It doesn't need to have any more. It's not a game.

Humour: Last but by no means least, humour (ya I'm from the UK). I have never seen such a wonderful Sonic parody in my life. Every second it was meant to be funny, I was crying with laughter, and when there wasn't any comedy, I was eager for more. My favourite part was the parfait. It kept going after the main punchline, each bit funnier than the last. Oh, and btw, I like parfait. Do you?

You need to make more of these. Maybe a sequel? You deserve more than over 75,000 views. This should have got a daily & a weekly award.

P.S. Please respond to this review so I know you know how much i loved it!!! thank you!!!

TheBlox responds:

Well, you seemed to really enjoy this. Thanks for the full thought review!

First of all, to answer your first question, believe it or not, I used 60 frames per second. The reason why is because the Sega Genesis console played their games at aproximately that speed, and I wanted it to be as close to the actual game speed.

So, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks again for this review! It's always good to know that there are still some fans out there that appreciate my work.

Parfaits rule! WOO!

Well, er.. hi. Watch my movies and visit my website. er.. is that enough? Oh, and i give honest opinions in my reviews. Good Luck to all flash artists!
